Two members of the Metropolitan Science team will be presenting at the British Society for the History of Science’s annual conference at the University of York, 6-10 July 2017. The draft programme now available has Rebekah Higgitt presenting on “The Spectacle Makers’ Company: Instruments, Science and Iconography” and Noah Moxham on “Peer Review as Connoisseurial Practice, 1695-1896”. Noah’s paper is part of a dual organised session on Connoisseurship, Quality Control and the Sciences, and draws on his postdoctoral work for the Publishing the Philosophical Transactions project. Both papers are currently slated for the final day.
